A community of believers
worshiping, growing and
serving together

Alpharetta Methodist is a part of the historical Methodist movement. Methodists are known for our emphasis on a personal faith, lived out in concrete ways in the world. We share the love of God by caring for one another, serving in our community and around the world. We value well-informed and passionate preaching and lively worship, and small groups where people can grow in faith.

Grace

We believe in God’s amazing and unquestioning love for humanity. All of our beliefs, doctrines and practices are grounded in the belief that God wants each and every one of us to be happy, healthy and holy. There isn’t anything that you have to do, or say, to make God love you. We believe that God loves you and has always had a plan for your life — even before you were born. We believe that in order to live out that perfect plan for your life and to receive the eternal life that God has planned for you, you need to choose to receive Jesus as your Lord, to have a relationship with him and to follow his teachings.

Baptism

Baptism represents our repentance and forgiveness of sins. It also signifies a new birth and the beginning of our lifelong journey as disciples of Jesus Christ. The Baptismal Covenant is God’s word to us, proclaiming our adoption by grace, and our word to God promising our response of faith and love.

Communion

At Alpharetta Methodist we observe Communion on the first Sunday of the month and during special worship services. We receive Communion by intinction, a fancy term for dipping the bread in the juice. We use non-alcoholic juice. Simply dip the bread into the cup and eat.

Everyone who has repented of their sins and loves Jesus is welcome to receive Communion. Additionally, all baptized Christians, of any age, and any Christian denomination are welcome to the Lord’s table.
