Sunday Nursery

Our Sunday Nursery staff is dedicated to meeting the needs of each of our children and their parents by provide consistent and loving care in a safe environment. The staff helps lays the foundations of faith through song, dance, laughter and love! 

Sunday Nursery is offered to children ages 6 weeks to 36 months and is open during 9 and 11 a.m. worship hours and the 10 a.m. Sunday Groups hour. The doors open 15 minutes prior to the start of each worship service. Visit the Children’s Check-in Desk to pick up your child’s nametag and a parent pickup tag. Our staff will direct your family to your nursery room.

Sunday Nursery Options:

For children who are 2 years old: Activities include fun art projects which complement a Bible story, verse, craft and prayer. We encourage children to explore new ideas and concepts as they grow with us.

For children older 2 year olds: Activities include age-appropriate curriculum that makes learning about the Bible fun. The little ones hear a Bible story, verse and prayer, and they make art projects to connect the lesson concepts. Parents receive a take-home page each week with a colorful picture of the Sunday lesson, along with questions and activities through which they can engage with their children. We celebrate holidays with the nursery children by helping them to make special gifts for their parents.

• Age Requirements for the Nursery are birth to 5th grade, unless prior approval has been given. A minimum of 2 children are required to reserve a nursery. We also require at least 2 weeks’ notice prior to the date when a nursery is needed. The Nursery Director must be notified, in writing, of changes in the number of children no less than 5 days prior to the event, as additional staff may not be available at the last minute.

Nursery and childcare may be requested for Alpharetta Methodist-sponsored Bible study groups and church committee meetings that meet on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings with a minimum of four children in attendance. To arrange nursery/childcare, please contact our Nursery Director, Helena Manning at least one month in advance with the following information: Name of Bible study or group, meeting dates and times, number of children and ages expected.

Weekday Nursery Options:

Our weekday nurseries are run in a structured environment. They feature free play, music, story time, art and snack. Space is dedicated for fun and freedom. We are fully set up to take a baby as young as 6 weeks and still keep a preschooler happy.

To request a nursery for a specific Bible study or special event, please check availability at least 2 weeks in advance. Contact Nursery Director Helena Manning (678-867-7518) or complete the Nursery Request Form.

Rosebuds

Do you have a new baby in the family? Please let us know, so we can celebrate with you!

We place a rosebud on the altar in honor of each child born into the Alpharetta Methodist family. On the Sunday the rosebud is displayed, we include a birth announcement in the worship bulletins. Please contact Nursery Director Helena Manning to coordinate a Sunday for this recognition. You will be asked to provide the newborn’s name and birthday, as well as the names of parents and siblings.
