Associate Director of Student Ministries (Full-Time)

The Associate Director of Student Ministries will work in tandem with the Director to develop and implement a comprehensive ministry to students in middle school and high school to lead them to being disciples of Jesus Christ. The Associate Director will focus special attention on the logistics of Student Ministry while developing relational ministry with middle school and high school students, their families, and the volunteers within the Student Ministry

Examples of Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Invest in the lives of middle and high school students and families
  • Help to design, plan, lead, and evaluate combined middle/high school programs and events (including Sunday Morning Bible Study, Sunday Night, events, retreats, mission trips.)
  • Provide logistical support for Student Ministry in ways that include: event planning; communicating ministry information through various avenues; coordinating volunteers, etc.
  • Support Life Group ministry in ways that include: lead, train, empower Life Group leaders; communicate with individual leaders on a regular basis; help recruit new Life Group leaders; form new groups as needed
  • Mentor student leaders and provide pastoral care, prayer, encouragement, and guidance as needed
  • Assist in churchwide worship services and activities as requested

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience leading students understanding of the distinctiveness of this age group
  • Experience in wise time-management, prioritization of tasks, and delegation of leadership
  • Experience with leading in the context of large and small groups of people
  • Experience with one-on-one mentorship and/or counseling
  • Skills to train and equip adult volunteers and student leaders
  • Understanding of, and ability to communicate, central emphases of Wesleyan theology

Custodian (Full-Time)

Alpharetta Methodist Church is seeking a full-time custodian. Candidates with experience, especially in a church setting, are encouraged to apply. Duties include cleaning, setups and light maintenance. Some Sundays may be required, and hours may vary between first and second shift depending on need.
