What happens when I give?
Ultimately, God is glorified, and God is recognized as the Giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). Your gifts also enable Alpharetta Methodist to be a community of faith, hope, and love helping our neighbors, the next generation, and the nations take their next steps with Jesus.
How much of my gift is allocated toward missions?
In one sense, 100% of giving supports our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ. However, we aim to designate at least 10% of all giving specifically to outreach.
Our partners include:
• Local organizations serving the hungry, homeless, foster families, and adults in crisis.
• Global ministries in Ecuador, Paraguay, England, Honduras, and Russia.

Does the church conduct an annual audit?
Yes. A third-party CPA firm (Carr, Riggs & Ingram) performs an annual financial review. Additionally, internal procedures ensure that all funds are collected, recorded, and spent with integrity.
Will the church keep track of my giving?
Yes! We use a system called Ministry Platform which keeps track of financial generosity. The church will send quarterly statements to donors along with a note from the Senior Pastor. The church will also provide a year-end statement that can be used for tax purposes.
Who has access to my giving information?
We take your privacy seriously. Only a few members of the finance staff and the Executive Pastor have access to individual giving amounts for processing and administrative purposes. A slightly broader group, including the Senior Pastor, may see who has given—but not how much—for leadership and care purposes. The finance committee is responsible for stewarding the overall church finances but does not have access to any personal information.
How can I give?
You can give in several ways:
• Online with your bank account or credit card at amchurch.com/giving (one-time or recurring)
• Online BillPay or auto draft via your bank
• Retirement distributions in the form of QCDs / RMDs initiated through your account custodian
• Donor Advised Fund (DAF) grants initiated through your sponsoring organization
• Stocks initiated by working directly with the finance office
• Physical Cash/check during Sunday services, in red giving boxes, mail / in-person delivery to the church
For questions or help with any of these, please email us at giving@amchurch.com.
How often should I give?
We encourage you to align your giving with your personal budgeting rhythm—whether that’s weekly, monthly, or some other frequency. We also suggest automating your giving for consistency and simplicity. If you have flexibility with your frequency, giving quarterly is our preferred option, as it supports healthy financial consistency for the church throughout the year while minimizing the administrative overhead.
Can I learn more about managing my finances?
Yes! We offer free access to Ramsey+, a comprehensive money management plan, for all church members. We also have a team of volunteers that provide free one-on-one financial coaching in certain situations. Please email giving@amchurch.com to get started or to learn more. It’s our joy to serve you!
