This Christmas season, Alpharetta Methodist is partnering with local organizations to bring joy and hope to families in need.

From providing stockings for mothers and children at The Drake House, to fulfilling wish lists for foster children through Dream Weavers, to sharing meals and gifts with families at Manning Oaks Elementary, and offering comfort through Buddy Bags, there are many ways to serve. Join us in spreading love and blessing our community this holiday season.

The Drake House is one of our community partners working ‘to empower women and their children experiencing homelessness to achieve economic independence and long-term stability.’ they do this by providing short term housing and opportunities for growth.

We will be partnering with these mothers to provide Christmas joy in the form of a filled stocking. Please consider sponsoring a Christmas stocking by clicking on the link below.

Dream Weavers is a community partner of AM that works to help enrich the lives of foster children in our area.

We will be partnering with local foster families to provide Christmas joy in the form of helping grant wish list of the children. If you would like to sponsor a Christmas wish list, please go to this link to sign up.

We’re hosting a Community Connection Dinner at MOE in the cafeteria—a time for our congregation to share a catered meal with MOE families and staff, enjoy winter-themed crafts, and build meaningful relationships.
Why this matters:
As a church, we want to show the love of Jesus in a tangible way—meeting the need of hunger and serving with no expectation in return. This is servant evangelism in action: giving of ourselves and our resources to bless others.
How you can help:
This is a great opportunity for families, small groups, and Sunday school classes to serve together. We need many hands to make this night successful! Volunteers are needed to:
  • Plan and lead winter-themed crafts
  • Serve dinner and help keep the line moving
  • Assist in the gift area where parents select items for their children
  • Share a meal and connect with families
  • Help transport gifts to vehicles
  • Arrive early for setup and stay until 7:30 PM for cleanup
Gift Collection:
We’re collecting new board games, card games, activity sets, and books for elementary-aged children to encourage family time during school breaks. Drop donations in the red bins in the main lobby before the event.

Buddy Bags is a ministry of AM that helps to support children and teens that are currently experiencing a traumatic event or situation in their lives. They help provide bags that are stuffed with a stuffed animal, books, a blanket and a folder full of art supplies to help them process and cope. These are distributed among the community to organizations that might meet children in this vulnerable place and support them in this way.

Please consider donating new books or new activity books to be given in these bags to children in need. Please drop these off in the main lobby in the red bins by Dec. 7.
